Walmsley Sanctuary: Just a “heads up” that we have Educational Access student groups using the tower hide tomorrow. They are all different age groups from different parts of the county and we do benefit very well financially with this grant scheme. It doesn’t mean members can’t use the hide … just be prepared that it may not be the normal peaceful sanctuary you expect!

Porthilly: 2 Cattle Egret, 68 Fieldfare, 3 Common Gull, 1 Greenshank, 3 Redshank, 11 Snipe, 45 Dunlin, 26 Turnstone. (S Grose)

Devoran: Lesser Yellowlegs again at Devoran Quay. 1 Spoonbill at Penpol Creek.

Newquay: Glossy Ibis flew in to preen and roost at 17:12. (S Rowe, M Lammas) Yellow-browed Warbler still at St George’s Road car park. (S Rowe) 2 Buzzard roosting in larch trees behind Trenance Cottages at dusk. (S Grose)

Lizard Point: Pom Skua and 2 Black-throated Diver past and 1 Black Redstart.

Truro to Newmills: 4 Dipper including 2 singing. (D Eva)

Plaidy, near Looe: 2 Reed Bunting (pair) in private garden on cliff path. (D Spooner)

Hayle Estuary RSPB: 3 (2 ad, 1 subad) Yellow-legged Gull, 1 ad argentatus Herring Gull. (R Veal)

Crowlas: 17 Stock Dove, 30+ Lapwing, possibly evidence of cold weather movement. (R Veal)

Truro: 1 Little Egret flying up River Allen. A considerable distance from Truro River where one would expect to see it. (K&J Mortimore)

St Merryn: Several Bullfinch visiting buddleia in a private garden. (R Hughes)

Treburgie, nr Dobwalls: 30 Lapwing flying over the snowy fields. (C&J Duffy)

St Austell: 1 Blackcap, 7 House Sparrow, 1 Song Thrush in private garden. (C Hooper)

Veryan: 40+ Golden Plover in fields towards Carne. (M Wilson)

Portscatho: 3 Great Northern Diver, 1 Razorbill. A local birder reported a Long-tailed Duck by the coastguard look out, but it had gone by the time I got round there. (M Wilson)
