Pendeen Watch (0730-1530): 1 dark juv. Long-tailed Skua (0805), 1 Leach’s Petrel, 2+ Petrel sp., 14 Arctic Skua, 30 Great Skua, 9 Sooty Shearwater, 34 Balearic Shearwater, 21 (11 drk) Common Scoter, 1 Dunlin, 2 Sanderling, 1 Bar-tailed Godwit, 1 Turnstone, 4 Sandwich Tern, 11 Arctic Tern, 3 Common Tern, 10 ‘Commic’ Tern. (R Veal, R Wilkins, P Clement, M Jones, T McGowan et al.) Also 3+ Grey Phalarope reported. 15:40-17:45: 2 Sabine’s Gulls (juvs) together at 16:25-16:30. Drift Reservoir: Osprey sat on the rocks between the 2 arms eating a fish, viewable from the car park. (P St Pierre)

Porthgwarra: Wryneck by the dried up pool at 09:05. (M Wallace)

Hayle Estuary RSPB: Osprey again on pole in centre of main estuary, also at least 1 Little Sint, 1 Spotted Redshank and 1 ad Brent Goose. (DK Parker) Spotted Redshank, Grey Plover, 9 Little Egret, 4 Grey Heron, 30+ Redshank, 8 Greenshank, 7 Brent Geese, juv Yellow-legged Gull, 11 Sandwich Terns (P Freestone, M Halliday, B Dallas, D Beadle) Osprey at 14:00 coming from Copperhouse area carrying a large mullet. It headed over asda and headed inland over the tree line between the Causeway and A30 heading toward St Erth. On it’s way a peregrine tried to snatch the mullet from the osprey numerous times. Downderry: Moving west, 07:20-08:35, were 2 Pale-bellied Brent Geese, 13 Balearic Shearwater, 31 Kittiwake and 200+ Gannet. Later, 13:15-16:20, 3 Arctic Skua, 44 Balearic Shearwater, 10 Kittiwake and 2 Common Scoter. (A Payne)
