Late News Aug 2011: News of 2 ringing recoveries of Sedge Warblers trapped in the county. The first was trapped at Gunwalloe on 14/8 and retrapped on 15/8 at Loc’h Coziou, Tregunc, Finistere, France. An impressive overnight hop of 269Km! The second bird was trapped at Marazion on 17/8 and retrapped on 27/8 at ENS des Ponts d’Ouve, Saint-Come-du-Mont, Manche, France. (per M Grantham)

Marazion Marsh RSPB: 5 Grey Heron, 1 Little Egret, 2 Mute Swan, 2 Canada Geese plus 1 gosling, 5 Mallard, 2 Moorhen, 2 Linnet, 2 recently fledged Stonechat, Sedge Warblers, Reed Warblers and 1 Cetti’s Warbler. (D Parker)
Camborne: 2 Siskin visiting a garden in Camborne along with 5 Bullfinch, 5 Greenfinch (3 juveniles) and about 10 Goldfinch including juveniles. (P Dinning)
Hell’s Mouth: At least 1 Razorbill chick at the colony. (P Dinning)
Devoran: 19 Redshanks, 93 Curlew, 100+ Black-headed Gull, 6 Shelduck, 2 Little Egret, 2 Grey Heron. (J & J St Ledger)
Rumps Point: 50+ Gannet some shallow diving for Sea Bass, 70+ Manx Shearwater, 4 Puffin, Razorbill, Guillemot, Fulmar, Shag, Cormorant, Rock and Meadow Pipit, 6 Linnet including 4 young, also several dead chicks on the coastal path, presumed Red-legged Partridge this morning. (C Selway)
