Late News: Sedge Warbler L488507 was ringed at Brew Pool, Sennen, (by Mark Warren) on 29th July 2010 and was then recaught on passage in Charente-Maritime, France, on 13th August 2010 and again in Parc National de Diawling, Mauritania, on 16th December 2010 (map attached for use). This is the first Cornish-ringed Sedge Warbler to be found in Mauritania, with only 12 from elsewhere in the UK found there.
Another Sedge Warbler L961738 was ringed at Gunwalloe on 14th August 2011 and recaught the next day in Finistere, France, an overnight movement of 269km! (per M Grantham)

Marazion Marsh RSPB: 8 Grey Heron, 1 Little Egret, 1 Cormorant, 6 Mute Swan, 5 Canada Geese (plus 1 gosling), 5 Greylag, 1 hybrid goose, 6 Mallard, 1 drake Shoveler, 7 Moorhen, fem Sparrowhawk, 3 Reed Bunting, 2 Stonechat, 2 House Martin, Swallows, Swifts, Reed Warblers, Sedge Warblers and 2 Cetti’s Warbler. Marazion: 2 Sanderling, 12 Dunlin, 2 Whimbrel, 2 Grey Plover, 9 Ringed Plover and 2 Turnstone on the beach. (D Parker)
Land’s End: 1 Redpoll, c20 Whitethroat, c30 Swallow, 3 House Martin, 1 Wheatear and 1 Kestrel. (D Parker)
Hayle Estuary RSPB: 9 Black-tailed Godwit from the causeway, plus 2 Canada Geese, 2 hybrid geese and 2 Oystercatchers on Ryan’s Field. (D Parker) Also 2 Reed Warblers by the river. (W Renshaw)

Stithians Reservoir:5 Whimbrel feeding in fields, flushed out by low flying Hawk jet (makes a change from dogs!), 4 Whitethroat, 2 Sedge Warbler seen, + more singing, 1 Stonechat with 2 young, Buzzard feeding young in nest in pine tree by gates in hill. (J St Ledger)
