Late News 25/08 Pendeen: 162 Manx Shearwater, 4 Balearic Shearwater, 1 Sooty Shearwater, 2 Storm Petrel, 1112 Northern Gannet (many in large groups), 2 Common Scoter, 7 Whimbrel, 7 Arctic Skua, 1 Pom Skua (a 2s still bearing full spoons flew west at 08:20), 8 Great Skua, 1 juv Kittiwake, 3 Arctic Tern, 3 Rock Pipit and 6 Barn Swallow west between 06:50 & 11:00. Also 824 Manx Shearwater, 6 Balearic Shearwater, 6 Great Shearwater, 2 Cory’s Shearwater, 5 Sooty Shearwater, 6 Common Scoter, 3 Arctic Skua, 8 Great Skua and 1 juv Long-tailed Skua between 12:40 & 15:40. Also 20+ Common Dolphin, 4+ Ocean Sunfish and 16+ Basking Shark. (LGR Evans)

Late News 27/08 Falmouth, Gyllyngvase beach: 3 Sandwich Tern, 4 Med Gull, 1 Whimbrel, 11 Fulmar, 26 Oystercatcher, 1 Kestrel, 5 Gannet (close to beach), 1 Grey Heron at 10:30. (J St Ledger)

Marazion Marsh RSPB: 2 Spotted Crakes (including the ringed bird) showing well from the standing stone on and off throughout the day. Also 4 Grey Heron, 5+ Little Egret, 4 Mute Swan with 4 cygnets, 1 Cormorant, 2 Mallard, 5 ad Moorhen plus 10 full grown young, 1 Kestrel, 1 Sparrowhawk, 3 Buzzard, 1 recently fledged Stonechat, 1 Wheatear, Sedge Warblers and Reed Warblers. Hayle Estuary RSPB: 3 Pectoral Sandpipers off the causeway early afternoon and still present off the car wash in the evening, 1 Common Sandpiper, 112 Curlew, 5+ Whimbrel, 27 Oystercatcher, 16 Redshank, 6 Turnstone, 66 Dunlin, 10 Ringed Plover, 2 Knot, 2 Bar-tailed Godwit, 2 Black-tailed Godwit, 1 Ruff, 10 Med Gull (6ad, 2 2w, 1 1w & 1 juv), 123 Canada Geese, 28 Greylag, 3 Wigeon, 14 Teal, 3 young Shelduck, 9 Little Egret, 6 Grey Heron and 15 Cormorant. Bude Estuary: 1 Mediterranean Gull this morning with 100+ Black headed Gull and 3 Turnstones. (H Kendall)
Davidstow airfield: Waders this afternoon included 21 Dunlin, 17 Ringed Plovers and 2 Ruff. Also 3+ Wheatears. (H Kendall)
