Falmouth, Pendennis Point: 9 Cory’s Shearwater. (RBA)
Porthgwarra: 1 Golden Plover, 10 Willow Warbler and 13 Wheatear. Also, Green Sandpiper over Polgigga. (M Wallace)
Maenporth: 1 m Common Scoter in bay. (T Wilson)
Liskeard, Moorswater: 15 Common Swift feeding over the viaduct at 09.20 hrs. (D Sharp).
Hayle RSPB: I was in the RSPB Eric Grace memorial hide very early this morning, and it was the action that happened inside the hide that went on! I was lucky to witness 3 of the 4 wren chicks fledge their nest! I left as I had to go to work, there was 1 left in the nest. Amazing to watch! (M Yelland)
Truro: Now that the last young gulls have fledged from the roof tops here it looks like an average year for chick production although many nests failed with starvation the most likely cause. Of 49 Herring Gull nests monitored, 30 were successful fledging 46 young ,of 6 Lesser Black Backed Gulls monitored 4 were successful fledging 9 young and 1 pair of Great Black backed Gulls fledged 2 young.
