Marazion Marsh RSPB: 5 Grey Heron, 6 Mute Swan, 4 Canada Geese (plus 4 goslings), 1 hybrid geese, 7 Mallard, drake Gadwall, 2 Coot, 4 Moorhen, 5 Whimbrel, 4 Swift, c60 Swallow, c30 Sand Martin, 1 House Martin, Chiffchaffs, Reed Warblers, Sedge Warblers and 2 Cetti’s Warbler. (D Parker)
Marazion: 1 female Kentish Plover at 10:15 when flushed by a dog walker, then again at 11:00-11:30 when yet again flushed by a dog walker, despite it being a “dog free” beach. Also 14 Whimbrel, 8 Sanderling, 6 Ringed Plover, 5 Dunlin, 3 Bar-tailed Godwit and 3 Oystercatcher on the beach, opposite the west end of the dunes. (D Parker et al.) Battery Rocks, Penzance: 16 Purple Sandpipers and 5 Turnstones. (D Parker)
Land’s End: 25+ Whitethroat, 2 Blackcap, 3 Chiffchaff, 3 Sedge Warbler, 1 Reed Warbler, 1 Spotted Flycatcher, 26 Whimbrel, 3 singing Skylark and fem Stonechat feeding 2+ recently fledged young. (D Parker & M Elliot)
Sennen Cove: 3,000 Manx Shearwaters past, plus 7 Purple Sandpipers and 2 Turnstones on the rocks. (M Elliot)
Treraven Meadow: 2 female Yellow Wagtail, 2 Grey Wagtail, 7 Pied Wagtail, 1 Shelduck and 40+ Barn Swallow. (C Selway) Also Hobby over at 18:30 flying towards town. (P Spong)
Stithians Reservoir:Stuart Hutchins hide; 4 Great Crested Grebe, 1 male Cuckoo (heard), 2 House Martin, 7 Swallow, 2 Willow Warbler. Both pairs of grebes were courting and nest building. (J St Ledger)
