Bird and Wildlife Walk at Windmill Farm – 16th May 2026

Windmill Farm is part of the Lizard National Nature Reserve and owned and managed by Cornwall Birds and Cornwall Wildlife Trust. It is featured in an article in the Spring 2026 Palores. This is an opportunity to meet with the warden, Dougy Wright and explore the farm, find out how it is managed and look for spring migrants and other wildlife. The farms location and varied habitats makes it attractive to waders, warblers, chats and flycatchers plus Hobby, as well as resident birds. It’s also recorded plenty of rarities and May is a prime time for spring overshoots from southern Europe like Hoopoe and Woodchat Shrike.

Meet at the Windmill Farm Car Park (W3W carpeted/evenings/book) at 9.30am. The access track is very uneven so take care when driving down.

Dress according to the weather. Walking boots/shoes and don’t forget binoculars. No dogs please.

The event is finished.
