Event

Birdwatching at Mevagissey Harbour

Fieldtrip Leaders: Join Rob Nicholls and Rowena Castillo-Nicholls, who will be looking for some of the resident and migratory birds. Species seen in the past include Purple Sandpiper, Great Northern Diver, Sandwich Tern, Guillemot, Razorbill, Cormorant, Shag, Turnstone, Meadow Pipit, Pied Wagtail, Mallard Duck, Gannets, Herring Gull, Great Black-backed Gull, and a lot more…

Meeting Time, Place and Parking: 10:30am at Mevagissey Lighthouse Quay Car Park. You can drive straight onto the harbour. There are some 60++ parking spaces. There is a ticket machine in the main parking area and your payment allows you to park either there, on your right after the Aquarium, or on the Lighthouse Quay itself. Please bring coins for parking or use JustPark app.

To find the car park, follow the one-way system into the heart of the village and proceed along Church Street. When you reach the cobbled area on the left, follow those cobbles until the harbour appears in front of you. Turn right at this point (straight ahead is private parking) and go straight on. About 50 yards past the jetty, on your right you will find the parking bays for disabled drivers. Bearing left you will pass the Toilets and then the Aquarium, after which you may park in any of the areas indicated above.

Event is Free. Everyone is welcome to attend. Booking is essential. To book, please contact Rowena via email: publicity@cbwps.org.uk.

Please check our website and social media prior to the event in case of cancellation due to weather conditions. Please wear suitable clothing and shoes. Bring binoculars, water and snacks; pen and paper to list the wildlife you see. No dogs please.
