Many thanks to Jasmina Goodair who’s taken time out from her busy Membership Secretary schedule to review this week’s photos and choose a worthy winner. Here’s her summary:-
“Another good week with a good variety of birds ably photographed by the sighters. The week began with an excellent shot of a Great Skua by Gerry Gillard and two lovely images of the Temminck’s Stint by Adrian Lea and Gill Fisher – not a bird I have ever encountered.
Good to see that Snipe are back with a great shot of one by Steven Ford.
Mid-week, Geraldine Ward gave us a Turnstone that showed its markings really well.
The end of the week there were great Wood Sandpiper images by Steve Rogers and Black tailed Godwits by Mark James all legs and beaks – a lovely action shot. I also particularly liked Steven Wood’s Sparrowhawk and the Hobby with prey by Robin Chivers. Mid-week presented me with this week’s headache with 3 particularly good images, Adrian Langdon’s male Marsh Harrier looking straight at the camera , 3 Choughs by Martin Webb and the Kingfisher with its catch by Gavin Williams.
After some deliberation, I chose Gavin’s Kingfisher – it was sharp with lovely colour and sitting nicely in the frame of the shot. Congratulations to Gavin for this week’s Photo of the Week. Keep those images coming in everyone as the weather is again improving”
Well done Gavin for great image- sometimes you just have to be in the right place at the right time!
