Adrian Lea summarises this weeks pictorial submissions to the Sightings Page

“There are certainly some exciting birds to see in Cornwall at the moment. On Monday S Holt Hutchinson submitted a lovely detailed photo of the long staying Spoonbill at Hayle and Tony Mills provided some great flight shots of a Marsh Harrier at Marazion. A good number of images of the Booted Eagle at Marazion have also been submitted this week, notably by Rebecca Bowyer, Stevan Windle, Jonathan Warner and Reuben Veal – the bird certainly seems to have attracted a lot of birdwatchers during the previous week! Adrian Davey captured a beautiful image of the Glossy Ibis at Bude on Friday, the sunshine really does provide an iridescent glow to the plumage. The Bonapartes Gull at Sennen has also allowed a number of birdwatchers, including Stevan Windle and Nigel Rogers, to submit some great images and the long-staying Long-tailed Duck at Newquay Boating Lake was clearly entertained by Adam Holmes on Saturday. My photo of the week however is the Chough taken at Park Head by Mark James, a great photo of such an iconic Cornish bird.
Many thanks to everyone who has submitted sighting reports and photographs to our sightings team, it really is greatly appreciated. “

Thanks Adrian and congratulations to Mark – an excellent choice.
