“Lots of interesting birds and some great photos from our photographers on the sightings pages this week. More young birds  from Martin Webb with a Canada Goose gosling and I particularly liked his Shelduck and her duckling foraging as they walked in step with each other. Martin also gave us a great flight shot of two Little Egrets,  a Bar-headed Goose and Stonechat with food.
Caroline Taylor also produced a great Stonechat picture. I found M. Rouncefield’s shot of a juvenile Blue Tit really charming.
Mid-week Red Kites were a feature and Vic Booth’s images were noteworthy as were Sarah-Jane Eastman’s Mediterranean gulls.
I really liked Steven Windle’s shot of a Tree Pipit – an excellent image , sharp and clear but I was drawn to the Bee-eaters. All the shots sent in were of an excellent standard, 2 from Adam Holmes and one from John St Ledger.  However, my photo of the week goes to Nigel Rogers – perfectly timed with the bee balanced in the open beak – would I ever have loved getting that shot!
