Jasmina Goodair takes time out from her busy role as Membership Secretary to review this weeks images.

Lots of great birds about and lovely to see many of our summer migrants returning, such as the Lesser Whitethroats by Adrian Lea and Gill Fisher, Tony Mill’s Savi’s Warbler, some good Sedge Warblers by Gill Fisher and Gerry Gillard, Woodchat Shrike by Nigel Rogers and Alan Lobb and a charming group of Sand Martins by Simon Willson.
I also liked John St Ledger’s Common Sandpiper, Gerry Gillards charming image of 3 Linnets and Martin Webb’s Greenshank.
I struggled to choose this week’s image with Gill Fisher’s Sparrowhawk and Anthony Mcleod’s Siskin as close contenders. However I went with Rupert Kirkwood’s 3 Whimbrel where the front one clearly shows the bird’s markings with the other two framing the bird nicely – lovely composition and depth of field. Well done to everyone who posts their images but this week particularly to Rupert.

This is the hat-trick for Rupert, winning for the third week in row, the first time this has been achieved so very well done. Thanks too Jasmina for the review.
