Jasmina Goodair takes a look at this weeks photos and selects her favourite from a wonderful series of pictures. Here’s her assessment…
‘A great week for the warblers and summer visitors represented by some great images. Whitethroats have featured well with some lovely shots by Caroline Taylor, Steve Ford and Adrian Lea, Sedge and Willow Warbler by both Adrian Lea and Steven Ford and I particularly liked A. Khan’s Reed Warbler. There were also very good shots of a Chiffchaff by Darren Rundle and a Dunnock by Adrain Lea.
I was left with 6 images that were all well executed, firstly a beautiful Citrine Wagtail sent in by T.McGowan & Steve Rogers but not sure which of the two took the image? Phil Taylor provided two great images, one of a Cuckoo and the other of a Spotted Flycatcher. Close call there Phil. The Subalpine Warbler by David Collins was an excellent image and we can all hope it makes it safely back home.
I was left with two images that are both winner worthy, Andy Tomkins’s image of the Stonechat with what appears to be a Small Copper butterfly to eat, was beautifully taken and caught my eye, however my final choice goes to Martin Webb’s image of the two Great Crested Grebe with their heads perfectly aligned to make for a a very pleasing composition, lovely imagery and colours.
Well done to you all for some excellent photos and taking the trouble to send them in – you certainly don’t make our job easy’.
