Chaple Amble: 8 Glossy Ibis with a further 4 flew west all on flooded field near to the village. Also, 50 Teal, 15 Wigeon, 2 Shoveler, 5 Canada Goose, 2 Mallard, 5 Pied Wagtail, 15 Black-tailed Godwit, 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 1 Stonechat and 1 Water Pipit. Newlyn: 1st w Glaucous Gull on south pier; also 1st w Red-throated Diver (P Kemp)

Marazion: 1 Pale-bellied Brent Goose (ringed A7, at Red River Mouth in morning until flushed by dog walkers), 1 Yellow-legged Gull (adult on Longrock Pool), 1 Little Egret, 1 Wigeon (N R Rogers)

Mount’s Bay: Drake Eider chasing adult Great Black-backed Gull high over bay until latter veered off inland where, after a short pursuit, the Eider returned to the bay and settled on the sea. This bird has been around several years but having never found a mate it can often be seen displaying to adult Great Black-backed Gull instead. Although the gulls are usually aggressive to other species, they seem to be quite intimidated by the duck, often taking flight and fleeing inland to escape! (D Flumm)

Towan Head, Newquay: 16 Purple Sandpiper, 21 Turnstone, 12 Oystercatcher on rocks behind the Headland Hotel. 2 Red throated Diver past and lots of Auks and Gannets off point. (M Lammas)

Treraven Meadows/Polbrock: 1m Kingfisher, 4 Snipe, 7 Curlew, 1 Green Sandpiper, 1 Common Sandpiper, 3 Shelduck, 50+Teal, 13 Song Thrush, 4 Nuthatch, 5 Coal Tit, 1 Grey Wagtail, 3 Water Rail (calling and showing briefly from largest Phragmites bed), 9 Long-tailed Tit, 4 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 1 Jay, 1 Green Woodpecker, 3 Greenfinch, 2 Siskin, 9 Meadow Pipit, 1 Water Pipit. Late submission, 06/02, Downderry: (0755-0925) 9 Red-throated Diver, 2 Great Northern Diver, 275 Gannet, 26 Fulmar, 37 Kittiwake, 1 Common Gull and 137 auks all moving west. (A Payne)
