Land’s End: 1 Richard’s Pipit briefly at 8:30. Also 181 Chaffinch, 4 Reed Bunting and a Merlin over. (I Prentice)

Windmill Farm: 2 Dotterel over, 2 Dunlin, 1 Great White Egret, Kingfisher and 8 Swallows. Also, 1 Adder. (D Wright)

RSPB Marazion Marsh: (07:15 – 09:30) 1 Glossy Ibis, 1 Purple Heron, 1 Spoonbill, 1 Great White Egret, 1 Water Rail, 1 Kingfisher, 2 Greenfinch, 2 Little Egret, 2 Grey Heron, 1 Song Thrush, 3 Meadow Pipit, 2 Cettis Warbler, 2 Stonechat. (R Hamilton-Ahearne) Also, 1 Yellow-browed Warbler heard in the willow by the railway line and 1 Chough over high heading west. Walmsley: 1 Long-billed Dowitcher, 1 Great White Egret, 3 Barnacle Geese, 2 Snipe, 1 Black-tailed Godwit, 5 Pintail, 1 Green Sandpiper, 11 Lapwing with 1 accompanying Starling, 1f Kingfisher, 3 Shoveler. Penzance: 1 Red-throated Diver off of Wherrytown Beach. (T McLeod) Also, 1 Great Northern Diver in partial summer plumage. (P Smale)

Crowlas: About 6 Cattle Egret flew towards Marazion Marsh late evening and 1 Swallow. (G Healey)

Marazion,Town/East Beach: 2 Chough (flew from inland out to the mount!), 7 Black-tailed Godwit, 41 Turnstone, 1 Sparrowhawk, 4 Buzzard, 2 Raven, 3 Curlew, 2 Dunlin, 1 Ringed Plover and 1 colour ringed Oystercatcher (black above white plastic rings on left leg and white plastic ring on left leg: ZA). Maer Lake: 42 Canada Goose, 29 Teal, 16 Mallard, 1 Common Buzzard feeding on corvid carcass, 1 Short-eared Owl, 12 Bar-Tailed Godwit, 4 Black-Tailed Godwit, 2 Snipe, 12 Fieldfare over. (N Bastin)

Late submission, 30/08, Scillonian Crossing: 1 probable Scopoli’s Shearwater photographed in Cornish waters. Bob Flood is going to include it in his BBSRC submission, stating
‘Bird 1 has an interesting set of white tongues in the under primaries. P10 measures to about 17%, which is right on the cusp of Scopoli’s. We did find a few Cory’s like this, but 25x more Scopoli’s than Cory’s were like this. Greater primary spots, or lack of them in this case, are what you would hope for with a candidate Scopoli’s. Unfortunately, the lesser secondary coverts are obscured.’ (G Jones)
