The Society is grateful to the Clowance Estate for allowing access to the park to view the Roller.  When visiting please note the following:

  • Only park in the overflow gravel car park near the main house and walk to the old golf course area. Do not park on any verges or block other vehicles.
  • No dogs are allowed in the park
  • Respect the privacy of lodge owners and other visitors

Praze-an-Beeble: 1 Roller still on old golf course at Clowance Estate or in the arable field behind.  It can be elusive at times but showed well late afternoon. (many observers). Also, 1 Spotted Flycatcher, 1 Chiffchaff, 1 Blackcap, 2 Stock Dove, 1 Sparrowhawk, 2 Green woodpecker. (B Bosisto)

Maer Lake: 1 Glossy Ibis. (H & D Phillips)

Mylor Bridge: 1 Hoopoe in private garden but flew off. (M Eldridge)

Zennor: 1 Red Kite at Bosporthennis common this morning. (P Kemp)

St Clement: 1 Red Kite. (M Jones)

Truro: 1 Red Kite flew over and W c1330hrs. (C Benton)

Tywardreath: 4 Greenfinch ( 1 male and 1 female) feeding 2 young on seed feeder in private garden – regular visits over last 3 days. (R. Barlow)

Newquay boating lake :20+Swift, 5 House Martin, 1 m Goosander chased by Swans. (J Green)

Newquay: 5 House Martins in Fore Street and 3 Swifts overhead at Sainsbury’s. (J Jelbert)

Devoran quay: 11 Curlew, 1 Black-tailed Godwit, 3 Oystercatcher, 4 Shelduck & 2 Little Egret on falling tide this afternoon (P Kemp)

Bowling Green: 1 Song Thrush, ad and juv House Sparrow in private garden. (K Hill)

Trebarvah Lane, Rosudgeon: 1 Buzzard, 7 Swallow, 5 Magpie, 2 Red Fox. (P K Bray)

Perranuthnoe: 3 Dunnock, 2 Whitethroat, 3 (1 juvenile), Goldfinch, pr Chaffinch mating. (P K Bray)

Trenow Cove: 55 Carion Crow feeding amongst seaweed, 3 Little Egret, 1 Swallow, 1 Rook. (P K Bray)

Boat Cove: 5 Sand Martin, 2 Whimbrel, 5 Turnstone. (P K Bray)

Helston Boating Lake: 1pr Mute Swan female on nest, 1drk Gadwall, 1m Ferruginous Duck escapee from 2018, 8 (4m 4f) Tufted Duck, 15+ Mallard, 20 Canada Goose 1pr with 2 goslings, 2 Moorhen, 10+ Coot 4pr with various age chicks, 1 Muscovy Duck 11.00 – 11.45. (M Webb)

Late submission, 23/5, Crousa Downs: 4 Cuckoos including a brown female which called repeatedly during the morning. (K Dalziel)
