Seabird Deaths

A further note from Vic Simpson (of the Wildlife Veterinary Investigation Centre, Truro) who thanks all those who responded to the original message.

He would now prefer NOT to receive any further seabird mortalities from around the Cornish coast at the present time unless any further large incidents crop up (involving VERY FRESH mortalities).
Vic Simpson can be contacted at [email protected] or via 01872 560623.
The following is a is a request from Natural England.
The current severe weather conditions may result in increased seabird mortality along the coast and Natural England would be very interested in examining any corpses (specifically Black throated Diver, Great Northern Diver and Slavonian Grebe) washed up in the south Cornwall area. Anyone finding any of these species is asked to bag and freeze them (if possible) and contact Richard Cook at Natural England ([email protected])
to arrange pickup and post-mortem examination
