Late News, 1/3, Tresillian; Private Garden in Polsue Way: 2 Bullfinch (m+f), 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 2 Blackcap (m+f), 4 Long-tailed Tit (all coming to feeders in the snow), plus three small flocks of Lapwing flying over west. (A Nicholson)

Tresillian River: 2 Spoonbill (between Tresillian and Tresemple), 5 Cattle Egret in field next to Tresemple Pool, 6 Wigeon, 3 Lapwing, 7 Black-tailed Godwit, 7 Greenshank, 20+ Redwing, 1 Bullfinch, 2 Blackcap. (A Nicholson)

Newlyn: Juv Glaucous Gull still in Sandy Cove coming to a Seal carcass, also 1 Ruff, c20 Lapwing, 12 Golden Plover, 1 Grey Plover, 1 Common Sandpiper, Turnstone, Dunlin, Ringed Plover, 5 Med Gull, 2 Common Gull, Water Rail, 60+ Redwing and Blackcap still in the bushes. Gannel Estuary: 1 Avocet, 2 Ruff, 3 Grey Plover, 12 Golden Plover, 50 Lapwing, 30 Barwit, 54 Dunlin, 1 Greenshank, 6 Redshank, 1 Ringed Plover, 3 Oystercatcher, 4 Curlew, 2 Snipe (many waders flew off by late am), 2 Pintail, 6 Wigeon, 4 Teal, 50 Fieldfare, 80 Redwing. Launceston: 9 Jack Snipe seen today in a snow-free flush in a meadow near Coads Green. Never seen this number of jack snipe together feeding in the open – wonderful sight. Also Lapwings, Fieldfares, Pied Wagtails and a single Ruff and Snipe feeding with them. (T & K Loe)
