Late news, 2/8, Downderry seawatch 16:00-20:30: Sea flat calm. 35 Common Scoter east, 120 House Martin coasting west, 2 pods of Common Dolphin, some jumping clear of water. Gannets diving on fish shoals, 6 Med Gull west, 4 Cory’s Shearwater west, 14 Oystercatcher, 1 Little Egret, 5 Pied Wagtail, Herring and Black-headed Gulls, 3 Great Black-backed Gull. (C Buckland)

St Ives Island (06:26-08:30): 2 Balearic Shearwater, 1174 Manx Shearwater, 1 Med Gull, c10 Common Scoter, 2+ Sandwich Tern, Whimbrel, Turnstone, Sanderling, Dunlin, Common Sandpiper and 1+ Ocean Sunfish. (L Langley)

Bude Headland: small family groups of Manx Shearwater roughly 1 mile out 07:00, 86 Black-headed Gull on bowling green near cricket pitch, 1 Kestrel, 1 Peregrine and 2 Raven. (N Bastin)

Stithians Reservoir: 1 Wood Sandpiper, 3 Green Sandpiper, 7 Common Sandpiper, 2 Ringed Plover, 3 Snipe, 22 Curlew, 2 Sedge Warbler, 1 Whitethroat, 1 Buzzard (adult) feeding frog to 2 young Buzzard. From Stuart Hutchings hide. (J St Ledger)

Porthilly Point: 18 Sandwich Tern, 29 Mediterranean Gull, 76 Black headed Gull, 2 Curlew, 2 Ringed Plover, 1 Dunlin, 39 Oystercatcher, 15 Sand Martin, Linnets sifting through the seaweed on the shoreline. (S Grose)

Ruan Lanihorne: Osprey circling, causing panic and flight of all the other birds, present at 09:05. (D Hall)

Tregantle seawatch 08:00-10:00: 11 Manx Shearwater west, 20 House Martin west, 100+ Herring Gull with Gannets on fish shoal off firing ranges, 8 Cormorant, 3 juv Whitethroat. (C Buckland)

Millbrook Lake: 200+ Black-headed Gull, 89 Redshank, 1 Little Egret. (C Buckland)

Rock: 2 Sparrowhawk (1 fem & 1 presumed juv) from a private garden. (S Grose)

Geevor: 3 Wheatear. Yesterday 5 Painted Ladies on the Pendeen to Geevor coast path. (A Hartley)

Pendeen: Sedge Warbler, several juv Whitethroat, 1 Chiffchaff, Kestrel, Buzzard, noticeable increase in the number of Swallows around, 1 Swift over. Also Hummingbird Hawkmoth. (A Hartley)

Mousehole: 2 Med Gull off the Rock Pool Cafe. (A Hartley)

Nanjizal: 123 new birds ringed. Of note were 11 Willow Warbler, 3 Chiffchaff, 55 Sedge Warbler, 6 Reed Warbler, 1 Grasshopper Warbler, 21 Whitethroat and 1 Blackcap. A juvenile Skylark was a nice surprise in the nets. (P Roseveare)
