Buttermilk Hill: A superb male Golden Oriole sat on top of the gorse on the hill and eventually flew down to Holman’s Moors where it was observed by a visiting birder and settled into the willows. Also 18 Wheatear, 4 Cuckoo consisting of 2 breeding pairs, Sparrowhawk carrying prey and 4 Common Buzzard. (V Stratton)

Trevail Valley: 72 Whimbrel in a single flock feeding in the fields, 17 Blackcap, 12+ Whitethroat, several Willow Warbler, 6 Chiffchaff, 1, Garden Warbler, 60+ Swallow and 14 House Martin. (V Stratton)
