Marazion Marsh RSPB: 5 Grey Heron, 2 Little Egret, 3 Cormorant, 5 Mute Swan plus 4 cygnets, 1 Canada x Greylag hybrid, 12 Mallard, 1 Aylesbury Duck, 21 Teal, m & f Goldeneye, 2 Little Grebe, 2+ Water Rail, 19 Moorhen, 1 Dunlin, 1 Swallow, 7 Meadow Pipit and 1 Cetti’s Warbler. Porthgwarra: Adult Dark-bellied Brent Goose (south along cliffs), 2 Sparrowhawk, 4 Kestrel, 2 Peregrine, 12 Golden Plover, Jack Snipe (flushed near Half-way wall), 2 Curlew, 1 Green Woodpecker, 35 Skylark, 3 Richard’s Pipit (moor beyond Half-way wall), 40 Meadow Pipit, 1 Water Pipit (cliffs), 6 Alba Wagtail, 2 Black Redstart incl. adult male, 4 Stonechat, 20 Blackbird, 10 Fieldfare, 8 Song Thrush, 4 Redwing, 2 Blackcap, 4 Chiffchaff, 2 Goldcrest, 1 Firecrest (Cove beach), 300 Chaffinch, 3 Brambling, 1 Serin (flew down valley towards Doctor’s garden), 10 Siskin, 25 Linnet, 1 Redpoll (flew east from car park), 1 Lapland Bunting (Lookout) and 3 Reed Bunting (Pool). Rame Peninsula: Red-throated Pipit calling and in flight only, around stubble fields along Military Road, associating with a mixed flock of Skylark and Meadow Pipits. Lapland Bunting showing well intermittently in stubble fields along Military Road, 1 Ring Ouzel on coastal path below Penlee NR, 1 Woodcock flushed from pony field below Penlee NR, 1 Swallow south, 1 House Martin south and 5 Blackcap (3m & 2fm). Crowdy Reservoir: Ringtail Hen Harrier hunted briefly over the marsh at 15.40. 4 Pochard, 1 Tufted Duck, 7 Wigeon, 36 Mallard, 26 Teal, 1 Grey Heron, 1 Curlew, 1 G C Grebe. Around 1,000 gulls to reservoir dusk roost including 187+ Black headed Gulls. Several 1,000’s Starlings now coming to roost.(B Craven)
Stithians Reservoir: 58 Teal, 24 Wigeon, 1 Pochard, 1 Heron, 6 Coot, 6 Mallard, 5 Woodpigeon, 10 Chaffinch, 4 House Sparrow, 12 Goldfinch, 4 Blue Tit, 4 Great Tit, 8 Long-tailed Tit, 1 Marsh Tit, 1 Buzzard, 1 Reed Bunting, 7 Magpie, 1 Robin, 1 Greenfinch, 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 2 Carrion Crow, 5 Herring Gull, 1 Wren, 1 Blackbird, 2 Water Rail, 6 Rook, 8 Snipe and 1 Raven from the Southern Cut Off. Kenidjack: Yellow-browed Warbler in willows below the wood yard, also 5 Black Redstart, 2 Ring Ouzel and 5 Chough.
Gannel Estuary: 2 Dark-bellied Brent Geese still.
Hallworthy: Ringtail Hen Harrier opposite Wilsey Down plantation at 11:45.
Porthcurno: 1 Ring Ouzel.
Penberth: 3 Ring Ouzels.
