Late news, 29/9, Scillonian RSPB wildlife cruise: 321 Gannet (including 2 feeding frenzies over Dolphins), 31 Manx Shearwater, 13 Balearic Shearwater, 14 Sooty Shearwater, 1 Puffin, 11 Razorbill, 4, Guillemot, 2 Kittiwake, 4 Great Black-backed Gull, 32 Herring Gull, 2 Mediterranean Gull, 1 pale phase Arctic Skua, 2 Great Skua, 10 Common Scoter, 1 Great Northern Diver (summer plumage) and 3 Turnstone. Hayle Estuary RSPB: 2 Cattle Egret, 10+ Little Egret, 10+ Greylag, 3 Grey Heron, 1 Sparrowhawk, Ruff, Black-tailed Godwit, Bar-tailed Godwit and Curlew on Ryan’s Field. Davidstow Airfield is an active airfield and we have been reminded that there is NO freedom to roam here and that cars must NOT drive onto the airfield at all. We have been advised that we can WALK onto the grassy areas, but not the runways. Cars should be parked alongside the road. Failure to comply could lead to access being withdrawn altogether.
