Gannel Estuary: 1 Cattle Egret near moored boats at 06:40.(S Grose)

Pendeen 07:00 – 12:00: 7 Balearic Shearwater, 9 Sooty Shearwater, 2 Arctic Skua, 1 Bonxie, 33 Whimbrel, 2 Storm Petrel, 548 Common Scoter. (S Rogers) (This represents a new record day count for Common Scoter in the county – previous best was 521 (450 west, 71 east) on 29th June 1991).

Mounts Bay, MV Mermaid II pelagic this morning: 4+ Great Shearwater, 3 Balearic Shearwater, c5 Sooty Shearwater and 60+ Storm Petrel.

Camel Estuary: 89 Mediterranean Gull (22 juvenile, 1 1st summer, 2 2nd summer, 64 adult), 9 Sandwich Tern, 5 Sanderling, 36 Dunlin, 4 Whimbrel, 2 Common Sandpiper, 6 Ringed Plover, 2 Greenshank, 14 Redshank. (B Bosisto)

Walmsley Sanctuary: 7 Glossy  Ibis3 Cattle Egret (B Bosisto)

Gunwalloe: 1 Wheatear 10:45 (C Richards)

Stithians: 1 Wood Sandpiper, 1 Lapwing (D Eva)

Truro: Last roof-nesting gulls fledged today. c. 150 pairs of Herring Gulls. 30 monitored pairs fledged 29 young. Many young died of heat stroke on 24th of June when temperatures hit 30 Celsius. A ground nesting pair of Herring Gulls on Trafalgar Roundabout failed after 23 days incubation. 10 pairs of Lesser Black- backed Gulls fledged 11 young. For the first time a pair of Great Black-backed Gulls nested and raised 2 young. (D Eva)

Caerhays Castle: 6 Little Grebe (possiby bred?), 1 Common Sandpiper, 1 Sand Martin (D Flumm)

Nare Head: 2 Chough, 2 Peregrine, 2 Kestrel , a Small Copper butterfly of form caeruleopunctata, 15 Harbour Porpoise in 3 pods & c20 Dolphin sp thought to be Bottle-nosed. (D Flumm)

Tintagel (08.00 – 11.00): 165 Common Scoter, 4 Storm Petrel, 1 Cory’s Shearwater, 1 Balearic Shearwater, 1 Tern sp?, Several hundreds Manx Shearwaters, 30+ Fulmar. ( B Craven, M Worden)

Pendeen Watch: 08:00-09:15 Good passage of Manx Shearwater, 1 Great Skua, 200+ Common Scoter, 1 Ocean Sunfish. Also called but not personally seen: 3 Arctic Skua & several Sooty Shearwaters. 1 Cory’s Shearwater also reported prior to my arrival. (Adam Hartley)
