Late news, 5/7, RSPB Scillonian III Wildlife Cruise: Penzance to the Wolf Rock: 136 Gannet, 45 Manx Shearwater, 12 Great Black-backed Gull, 20 Herring Gull, 1,Black-headed Gull, 2 Mediterranean Gull, 1 Kittiwake, 18 Guillemot, (some with juveniles), 1 Puffin, 2 auk sp, 1 Razorbill, 1 Shag, 3 Sandwich Tern. Also 6 Harbour Porpoise, 17 Common Dolphin and 4 Bottle-nose Dolphin.
Wolf Rock to Hugh Town: 8 Great Black-backed Gull, 7 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 4 Herring Gulls, 2 Mediterranean Gull, 34 Kittiwakes, 7 Shags, 2 Fulmar, 43 Manx Shearwater, 1 Sooty Shearwater, 6 Guillemot, 36 Gannet. Also 2 Harbour Porpoise.
Hugh Town to Wolf Rock: 8 Great Black-backed Gull, 3 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 3 Herring Gull, 3 Gannet, 19 Manx Shearwater, 5 Guillemot, 15 Shags and 2 Fulmar. Also 2 Harbour Porpoise.
Wolf Rock to Penzance: 22 Great Black-backed Gull, 175 Herring Gull, 3 Black-headed Gull, 5 Mediterranean Gull, 7 Guillemot, 42 Gannet, 3, Fulmar, 2 auk sp, 76 Manx Shearwater, 7 Kittiwake and 1 Eider Duck. (V Stratton, J Swift)
Devoran: 81 Curlew, 6 Whimbrel, 6 Black-tailed Godwit, 76 Redshank, 9 Greenshank, 2 Common Sandpiper and 20 Med Gull. (B Mellow)
Hayle Estuary RSPB: 3 Whimbrel, 12 Redshank, 86 Curlew, 2 Wigeon, 142 Black-headed Gull, 58 Mediterranean Gull (including a juv), 2 juv Sedge Warbler and a brood of 7 Mallard with a female feral/domestic type (appearance of father unknown). Interestingly, 2 ducklings looked like standard Mallard ducklings, 2 were abnormal with a pale yellow wash and 3 were half way in between. (R Veal)
Gannel Estuary: 10 Whimbrel until flushed by dogs, 2 Buzzard, 1 Raven over, 3 House Martin, 12 Swift, 1 Greenfinch. (S Grose)

Towan Head: 1 Turnstone, 2 Oystercatcher, 1 Common Sandpiper, 2 Linnet, 2 Rock Pipit, 1 Grey Seal. (S Grose)
Stithians Reservoir: 1 Lapwing, 3 Coot (although none bred this year here). No successful Great Crested Grebes although 2 pairs nested. Wren feeding 6 young at nest. ( D Eva )
