Porthgwarra 06:00 – 08:15: 18 Great Shearwater, 10+ Cory’s Shearwater, 9 Sooty Shearwater, 4 Balearic Shearwater + 1 Minke Whale offshore. Porthgwarra cove, 7:30-15:00: 46+ Great Shearwater, 8 Cory’s Shearwater, 12 Balearic Shearwater, c25 Sooty Shearwater, 2 Great Skua, c100 Storm Petrel, 4 Puffin, 1 Commic Tern, 72 Common Scoter, Manx Shearwaters passing at c255/min for 2 hours. Also a bait ball being preyed on by tuna. (R Veal, B Mellow, R Wilkins) 17.00 – 19.00: 2 Cory’s Shearwater and 2 Balearic Shearwater.

Pendeen: 08:15 – 09:30: 1 Cory’s Shearwater, 1 Storm Petrel, 2 Sooty Shearwater, 1 Great Shearwater, 5 Common Scoter, 4 Sanderling, 3 Balearic Shearwater,  steady stream of Manxies. (B Toms, M Curtis) 20:20-20:55: 1 Sooty Shearwater in a light passage of Manx Shearwaters. Also 1 Porpoise (A Hartley)

Lizard, Lion’s Den Point. 5.30pm: All flying west into force 5, c500 Gannet 500,1000+ per hour Manx Shearwater, small numbers of Fulmar and Herring Gull, also 2 Raven, 2 Chough  in cattle field just beyond Pistil Meadow. (D Hall)

Scillonian III crossing, out: 10 Great Shearwater, 1 Cory’s Shearwater, 34 Sooty Shearwater. Return: 100+ Great Shearwater, 25 Sooty Shearwater, 2 Balearic Shearwater, and 20 Storm Petrel.

Walmsley Sanctuary: 7 Glossy Ibis still, 4 Cattle Egret (inc 1 juvenile – probably the first breeding record for Cornwall) 1 Kingfisher this afternoon. Newquay, Towan Head, 08:45 – 09:00: Small Manx Shearwater passage, 54 Common Scoters in 2 groups (male C. Scoter for 4th week still close in), 7+ Common Dolphin fishing close off point.  (M Lammas)

The Lizard: 6 Chough, 1 Juv Sparrowhawk, 3 Greenfinch, 2 Wheatear, 3 Common Sandpiper, 100+ Common Dolphin.offshore (S Grose) Lizard Peninsula: Juvenile Peregrines recorded. (S Richards)

Hayle Estuary RSPB, Lelant Water: 5 Black Swan,  4 Black-tailed  Godwit (2 sum plum), 11 Greylag Geese with perhaps100 Canada Geese. Ryans Field: Swallows nesting in bird hide. (D Julian)
