Penzance: Curlew Sandpiper still on Wherrytown beach and Red-throated Diver offshore. (L Proctor M Ahmad) Red-throated Diver, Goldeneye and 3 Eider off Chyandour Cliff at lunchtime. (T Mills) Plus in a Penzance garden: 6 Redwing feeding on myrtle berries, at least 4 Blackcap A Magpie seen in a beech tree dismembering and eating a dead shuttlecock! I don’t know if the shuttlecock feathers were real or plastic but the magpie ate them all, leaving a small part of the shuttlecock that it flew off with. (Observer familiar with both species.)
