Yesterday (15th August) 20 dead Herring Gulls were found on the beach between Marazion and Long Rock. These had been washed away before they could be collected, but anyone finding >3 dead seabirds (including gulls) should report them to the Cornwall Wildlife Trust Marine Strandings Network hotline (0345 201 2626 – www.cornwallwildlifetrust.org.uk/strandings). In all such cases the incident will need to be reported to Defra which CWT will do (per M Grantham).
