Mylor Churchtown: 5 Black-necked Grebe, 1 Great Northern Diver, 9 Red-breasted Merganser, 1 Razorbill. Also 40+ Common Dolphin and 2 Harbour Porpoise. (J St Ledger)

Rosenannon Downs: 1 Merlin hunting Meadow Pipits roosting in gorse, 3 Snipe, 1 Jack Snipe, 9 Fieldfare roosting in sallows on the moor, 1 Grey Heron, 3 Yellowhammer, 2 Willow Tit in sallows behind sign for ‘Cransworth Common Farm’. 1 Tawny Owl, 1 Barn Owl. (S Grose)

Feock: BTO Blackcap survey team has colour-ringed 13 Blackcaps this winter in one garden many of which are being seen regularly. In addition there are still an indeterminate number of un-ringed ones coming to the bird table. Just goes to show you have no idea how many birds are out there! (K Dalziel)
