5pm AGM – meet the board of trustees and find out what we have accomplished in the past year and what we plan for the future.
6.15pm Buffet & cash bar
7.00pm Victor Simpson award – Tiffany Farrant-Clark, 2024 winner of the Victor Simpson award, which is organised by the Society, who will give a multimedia presentation on her prizewinning submission ‘the effects of cleaning bird feeders on bacterial growth’.
7.15pm guest speaker Dr Mark Avery. Dr Avery is a highly-acclaimed author and conservationist and worked for the RSPB for 25 years – first as a scientist but for nearly 13 years as Conservation Director. He was a co-founder of Wild Justice and former Chair of the World Land Trust. He writes regularly for British Wildlife, BBC Wildlife and Birdwatch magazines and has also written a number of books.  Dr Avery has very kindly agreed to give a multimedia presentation titled ‘Wildlife Conservation – are we winning?’
