Dipper Survey Training Event

10th March 2024

9am-12 noon

River Fowey, Golitha Falls car park, near Liskeard PL14 6RX

This spring we are organising a Dipper and Grey Wagtail breeding survey across the county. We aim to survey suitable stream and river habitat and gather evidence of possible, probable or confirmed breeding. We also want to record the habitat alongside the watercourse. This training event will provide anyone new to surveying with the skills to undertake the field work. You will look for evidence of Dippers and Grey Wagtail and discuss the methodology to record your sightings. The event leader is Chair of Cornwall Birds and survey organiser, Bruce Taggart who has plenty of experience of similar surveys.

Following the practical elements we will adjourn to Inkie’s Smokehouse cafe and talk about how to complete the relevant survey forms.

Wear suitable clothing and footwear. Bring binoculars and a notebook; the event is free; no booking necessary, just turn up
