Jasmina Goodair has taken time out this week to review the latest pictures submitted to our Bird News team.
“Yet another good week of photographs with some decent days of light and even sun.
On Monday Adam Holmes gave us a great Treecreeper and Firecrest, both illusive birds. The Glossy Ibis by Martin Webb and the stunning shot of the day of the Sparrow Hawk by G. Gillard were really good.
Tuesdays Redshank by Martin Webb was very sharp and a lovely image.
Again Martin Webb produced another great image on Wednesday with his Goldfinch.
Thursday’s image of the Mandarin by Vic Booth was top notch. Friday saw a beautiful Dunnock by Dave Thomas and Black necked Grebe by Graham Smith.
Sunday had 2 more great images , the Bonaparte Gull by Jon Irvine and Deena Sharpe’s Scaup…
However as a photographer I know how difficult it is to photograph a black bird and two showed up this week – the Blackbird by Martin Webb and Raven by Steve Cox but I went with Indi Stennett’s Raven due to its detail and engaging pose – such a majestic bird.”
