Note, Maer Lake: The new bird hide is scheduled to be installed at the reserve this week. While every effort will be made to avoid causing disturbance within the reserve a degree of disturbance will unfortunately be unavoidable, apologies in advance. Anyone wishing to assist with hide construction would be most welcome to join us from 10am on Tuesday 9th or Wednesday 10th September. Porthgwarra: 1 Long-tailed Skua (juvenile flew west at 1135). (B Mellows, N R Rogers)

Hayle: 1 Glossy Ibis, Hayle Estuary (next to Fore Street) at 8.20am. (R Andreyeva)

Kynance & Predannack: 45 Glossy Ibis over. (BirdGuides). Large flock also reported over Isles of Scilly earlier.

Caerthillian to Soapy Cove: 43 Glossy Ibis (later joined by 5 more over Lizard Village), 1 Wryneck, 5 Pied Flycatcher, 1 Spotted Flycatcher, 3 Whinchat, 5 Wheatear, 1 Marsh Harrier, 2 Whimbrel, 3 Whitethroat. (E O’Connor)

St Just, Penwith: At around 17:45 we saw a flock of about 25 Glossy Ibis circling over the fields to the west of St Just. After a few minutes they drifted eastwards over the town and we lost sight of them. (R Butterfield, E Stanley)

Ruan Lanihorne: 1 Glossy Ibis and another 43 Glossy Ibis flying around for 25 minutes from 16.55 then flew east. Also, 1 Osprey present for 1 hour, 50 Curlew, 4 Greenshank, 15 Ringed Plover, 1 Whimbrel, 1 Common Sandpiper, 3 Snipe, 1 Water Rail, 4 Teal, 10 Little Egret, 4 Raven. Camel Estuary (Wadebridge to Tregunna, 1515-1645): Glossy Ibis, Curlew Sandpiper, Little Stint, 2 Knot, 3 Greenshank. (G Stephenson)

Stithians Reservoir: 1 Pectoral Sandpiper, 1 Glossy Ibis, 6 Ringed Plover, 5 Dunlin, 3 Ruff, 2 Greenshank, 1 Common Sandpiper, 1 Green Sandpiper , 1 Black-tailed Godwit, 5 Snipe, 1 Curlew, 2 Wheatear, 3 Little Egret, 3 Grey Heron and one or two Clouded Yellow butterflies. (T Pinfield). Also 1 Pectoral Sandpiper, 4 Curlew Sandpiper, 4 Ruff, 1 Green Sandpiper, 2 Greenshank, 1 Black-tailed Godwit, 1 Curlew, 2 Lapwing, 9 Ringed Plover, 3 Dunlin, 2 Osprey, 1 Wheatear. Also Stithians: 5 Snipe, 1 Green Sandpiper, 5 Ruff, 1 Curlew, 2 Lapwing, 1 Black-tailed Godwit. 2 Greenshank, 7 Ringed Plover, 2 Wheatear, 1 Pectoral Sandpiper, 1 Glossy Ibis, 6 Pied Wagtail, 3 Dunlin. Par, Spit Beach: 1 adult probable adult American Golden Plover, 1 juv Bar-tailed Godwit, 1 juv Knot, 1 Kingfisher. (R Hampshire)

Restronguet Creek: 1 Osprey, failed fishing, sat on spoil bank island before flying towards Devoran. (B Penny)

College Reservoir: 81 Coot, 5 Great Crested Grebe. (D Eva)

Pendeen: 11 Spotted Flycatcher, 6 Pied Flycatcher, 3 Tree Pipit (A Bayly, P Combridge). Also at Calartha Farm: m Pied Flycatcher, Spotted Flycatcher, Willow Warbler, Chiffchaff, Chough over, Robin, Wren, Dunnock, Greenfinch, 8 Goldfinch, Chaffinch, Rooks, Jackdaws. (S Cox)

Marazion Marsh: 1 Wryneck in scrub between viewing area and reserve entrance from the road at 15:50pm. Flew towards reedbed landing in scrub near the water. (G Wills and N Walton). Also 2 Whinchat. (R Hamilton-Ahearne). Also 1 Little Egret, 1 Cattle Egret. (T Newing)

Downderry: 0650-0745, whilst 80 + Gannets moved east at start of the watch, another 350+ were feeding far to the south. Also noted were a Balearic Shearwater, 40 Kittiwake, 4 Mediterranean Gull and a Great Skua. (A Payne)

Camel Estuary: 111 Dunlin, 30 Grey Plover, 12 Bar-tailed Godwit, 75 Ringed Plover, 23 Teal , 2 Little Stint, 1 Sanderling, 2 Wigeon, 1 Snipe, 1 Turnstone, 1 Great Crested Grebe. (B Bosisto)

East Pentire (07.10-08.30): 1 Turtle Dove flew in off sea, 5 Balearic Shearwater, 25 Knot, 1 Arctic Skua, 7 Sandwich Tern, 16 ‘commic’ Tern. (S Rowe). This afternoon, 1 Sabine’s Gull, 4 Balearic Shearwater, 5 Common Sandpiper, 1 Whimbrel, 2 Sandwich Tern, 2 ‘commic’ Tern, 3 Wheatear. (D Grose, S Rowe)

Gannel Estuary: 8 Ringed Plover, 1 Dunlin, 2 Redshank. (S Rowe)

Barrowfields, Newquay: 1 Chough, feeding, on grass. (D Brinton)

Falmouth Pelagic: 5 Great Shearwater, 2 Cory’s Shearwater, 1 Sooty Shearwater, 1 Balearic Shearwater, 1 juvenile Little Gull, 2 Minke Whale on AK Wildlife Cruises. (J Irvine)

Crowdy Reservoir: 2 juv Little Stint then toward Davidstow c1700, 2 Common Sandpiper, 11 Knot, 1 Ringed Plover, 8 Dunlin, 4 Tufted Duck. Waders that flew straight over included 3 Ruff, 1 Turnstone and another Calidris sp. (R Veal)

Bosistow Lane, Polgigga:  1 Spotted  Flycatcher late afternoon. (P Smale)

St Merryn (private garden): 1 Turtle Dove briefly this afternoon. 40 to 50 Goldfinch back on feeders, Collared Dove, House Sparrow, Blue and Great Tit, Starling and 2 Chaffinch. (R Hughes)
